This Artist Created 35 Adorable Comics That Perfectly Capture A Dog’s Life

Bored Panda wanted to learn more about this cartoon series, so we reached out to its creator for a chat. Peter shared how he first found inspiration to start making comics: “It started from a very young age. As a youngster I read comics all the time and being very artistic, I created my own cartoon strips. As an adult I used these skills that I had gained over the years in my full time career as a humour artist/writer for greeting card companies. I was employed by Carte Blanche Greetings and then Hallmark UK amongst others.”

When asked about the recurring themes in his cartoon, the creator of ‘Penny’s Thoughts‘ responded that they revolve mainly arounds food and diets. Allwright elaborated: “A lot of us (me) tend to spend as much time worrying about weight gain as we (me again) do about where our next sugar fix will come from. This paradox makes for a lot of humour ideas!”

Next, we were curious to know which of his cartoons Peter considers his personal favorite. The artist shared: "I've produced so many cartoon strips over the years, that it's hard to pick a favourite, other than to say, probably my current one as ideas and character traits that I thought were good in my previous comics can usually manifest in some way in my latest work. Basically, my latest cartoon strip is a blend of all my favourite ideas.”

Lastly, the cartoonist shared with us which other comedy artists he admires: “Two brilliant cartoonists that I have always admired are Bill Watterson, for his superb writing and fantastic artistry and Gary Larson for his quirky off the wall humour.”
