Pauline Halper’s Paintings

I am an artist who grew up in New York City but now lives and works in a rural Northern California. I’m interested in transportation and time — how we used to get around on foot, then horse, and now in cars.

My website is: paulinehalper.com

Beneath

I was thinking about what goes on under our feet when I painting this. About all the life and decay that we don’t see.

Wheel

The wheel is time, our planet, and of course, the wheel, which changed human kind forever.

Horse Riding on Car

I think it’s strange to see horses being trailered on the highway…
