Probably because he has been mocked a lot by heterosexuals and this society that always shame guys for not acting "mainly" enough, like in his case for chosing ice skating and not american football. Didn't you reed the previous tweet about his "haters", about the people wishing him to fail because he's gay? If you're not homophobic then you don't have to feel target. It's just like when a woman says that she's been harassed by men. You don't have to play the #notallmen. Women know this.But enought men have problematic behaviour that every women on earth had experienced it. Well, I guess all the hating message he recieved were sent by sooooo proud heterosexuals. Maybe you should aim your message about the not rubing in anyone's face to those hating people, don't you think?

WOW! Loving all the love here, but hating all the hate. Celebrate who he is, a very funny, very talented Olympic skater! Is that not enough? If you don't agree with who he sleeps with, then maybe don't bring it up? Like even if you disagree with his choices, it his choice not yours to make.

I don't get the victimhood thing from Rippon. Also, I don't think that any politically-fueled, snarky remark wins anyone over, to any side. What you get is a divide, and that has not worked for anyone shouting a stupid mantra... so, go MAGA yourself (or Yes, We Can, or Today For A Better Tomorrow, or other nonsense). I don't think Rippon is all that great, save for a few points... he certainly doesn't speak for me, but that's idealistic youth for ya. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to become a poster-boy for gay folk. That wouldn't be bad (!), he is easy on the eyes, and he can be the role model for many who think they are alone or unworthy just because they like men. I'd then wish for compassion to gay-unfriendly cavemen, but... you can't have it all, right?
