Before the Spanish conquerors, several hundred years ago, the Philippine islands have their own languages and writing systems. They were systemically destroyed as all invaders do in order to subjugate and enslave the populace. However, some documents survived with accompanying translations.

Today, a lot of locals are reviving this old alphabet called BAYBAYIN.
