Try cemeteries- all my best hauls came from cemeteries and I can also avoid the ticks that inundate our woods. Also, take the loose caps that aren't attached to an acorn and after you prep and bake the acorns and loose caps, when you are ready, put a really healthy dollop of glue from a glue gun into the cap's underside, press a body into it (acorn, not human) and squeeze for a few seconds. I actually pop off all the caps and glue them back on.

I have been getting ready for Christmas all year by crafting ornaments. I must say that many of them are beautiful and others not so much, but I keep them anyway. It's an expensive hobby as I don't sell them. I give them away to family and friends or anyone else who is willing to accept them! Sorry no pictures. I have no way to take pictures.

This is funny. Last night, I flipped past my usual murder channel and landed on a shopping network selling card making supplies. I said to one of my kids (rather grumpily) "no one makes cards that nice for real" (I was being a tired curmudgeon). Well, I can now confidently say I was totally wrong!

A mandala is a 2-dimensional representation of a palace. There is a court yard, walls, 4 gates, and 'defense lines' such as the multi-coloured fires around the palace. This piece contains 51 separate figures connected to the Medicine Buddha (Sangye Menla in Tibetan). All the images are drawn as separate, 1 m high images and then transferred to the mandala. Things to do: 3 more figures, a lot of little fidgety things and the four corner pieces, consisting of flowers and the Eight Auspicious Signs.
