Our dog is a livestock guardian breed. He does tend to plant himself where he interferes with all traffic - from the *human* point of view. I strongly suspect that it's an ingrained behavior for him to 'occupy a defensive position' where he's able to intercept as many incoming threats as possible. Ren is a good boy, and takes his duty *very* seriously. (If he thinks he's 'on the job', he will not even accept treats. We had a jack Russell, we never underestimated her power and strength. She had infection in her front leg and had to have the leg removed, but the vet said that has soon as she came round from the anaesthetic, she was trying to get up. Has soon has she came home she was running around, a bit wobbly but determined
