My cousin had this done! It was like looking through a tube, no peripheral vision he says. He lost his sight at 18mths old, and gained it back after 30 odd years. He was one of the first people to have it done in England. It’s actually pretty incredible, and absolutely life-changing.

There was a documentary made about him : "David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived" directed by Dan Hartley and produced by Daniel Radcliffe himself.

So very indicative of the way so many of us have to live life. The world is burning, figuratively and literally, yet our survival seems so much more dependent on the mundane tasks of every day.

It's named Sedlec Ossuary and is in Kutná Hora, Czechia. Google it. The photos are amazing.

I just read a bit about the real incident. Makes the movie kinda seem stupid. He was allegedly exiled from his home country (Iran), and ended up living in an airline terminal (in France). Except he wasn't actually exiled from Iran, although I can't blame him for not wanting to go back. But he was also offered residency in both France and Belgium, but didn't because they wouldn't allow him to register as "Sir, Alfred Mehran," including "Sir" and the misplaced comma. So basically he was just a rando crazy guy who liked living in an airport as a beggar.

Nope. The worst is the Poison Garden in the UK. You can only go on guided tours in small groups and most of the plants are fenced off, as they can all k**l you or give you a mega toxic reaction.

Apparently he does this right in front of a police station. I'll bet on the day he gets released during roll call, it goes some like: "Alright, David gets released today again. Who wants to pick him up?"

This one is amazing. With all of the personality tests done on astronauts, I would have expected any emotional instability to have been identified early on.

In 2015, a father saved his son's life when doctors wrongly declared him brain-dead and were taking him off life support. He barricaded himself with a gun in the hospital and had a stand-off with SWAT until his son squeezed his hand. The son made a full recovery.

Sadly, it didn't do him a lot of good.
