Yugoslavia wanted to be a powerful military country .. they needed to be, since the country was a combination of multiple ethnic regions that all felt they were being ignored. In order to create a secret yet impressive aerial strike force, the Yugoslavian government ordered the construction of Objekat 505 (otherwise known as Zeljava airbase) ..

Back in those days, it was the largest underground military facility in the world, having 60 MIG jets in continuous standby.

When Yugoslavia collapsed, the army abandoned the complex but placed thousands of mines in the area, making it one of the most dangerous pieces of land in Eastern Europe.

The base, located on the border of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, is also straight on the infamous Balkan-route, à route that thousands of migrants use while fleeing their war-torn countries.

Needless to say that police & military are extremely nervous .. something we encountered up close and personal .. unfortunately, the drone did not survive.
