I Combined Old And New Photos Of Serbian Streets To Bring History To Life (Part 2)
If you missed it, the first part of my project can find it here. I collected bunch of old photos of my hometown, Niš (Serbia) and nearby spa town Niska Banja. I recreated them by taking photos of the same locations from the exact same spot and angle that the originals were taken. Later I merged the old and the new photos together in a manner that reveals the nostalgia and sentimentality.
These photos take us back in time as well as bring the past to us, to our everyday surroundings. They deliver a strong emotional impact and raise questions about our awareness of the beauty of the cities we live in.
