Zac Mehdid is a man, and he loves skirts. ‘They look good and they’re comfortable as hell – especially with this summer heat.’
But even in 2016, people still find it weird to see a (bearded) man walking around with a skirt. They look at you and judge you. So he decided to change that, and therefore he designed his first skirt, a genderless skirt, for every human. He called it ‘Looks’, to represent people’s judging faces when they see something ‘abnormal’. Wearing this skirt is a way to break free from prejudices, the status quo, and judgment; You literally ‘wear the looks’ and embrace them.
This skirt is an ode to freedom. A la liberté !
(He also designed the top. More to come)
