JN Crazy is Shanghai-based artist and illustrator who recreates his favorite National Geographic photographs in the best way he knows how – his digital drawings. He takes pictures that he really loves and turns them into adorable illustrations. Right! The cartoons are nice but they don't capture the stark reality of the desert like the photograph.

The finished one is really good, but personally I prefer the uncoloured version somehow, for this one. Maybe because the kid looks friendlier, I guess? Although I diasgree with other comments for now, he doesn't look evil or angry to me.

I'm lol'ing that someone thinks the kid looks triumphant, not evil. My guess is that the artist is vegan and views fishing as wrong, so it makes sense to her that the kid is evil, which is exactly how she drew him. Look at the cartoon fish. It's obviously suffering.

Seriously, why the blue eyes? Just for contrast? Changing it makes a statement, conscious or not, about ethnicity that isn't positive.
