My Study Abroad In Rwanda And Uganda

This summer I went to Uganda and Rwanda to study about Peace,Conflict,and Development.Along the way I met some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.These two countries opened a lot on my perspective of Africa,about colonialism, and how detrimental the media can cheery pick what to broadcast to the general to reinforce stereotypes. Rwanda and Uganda are beautiful countries with struggling people is objectively true, but also inspirational people that is common, if not the same, as any place in general. I was interviewing some refugee at Nakivale Refugee center when a duststorm hit us. At this moment they sky began to turn yellow

She walked from the DRC to Uganda to seek refuge during the second Congo War where her 3 children were murdered. But life continues, as she recently had a newborn

Under supply, long lines, and ever more crowded Refugee Center does little to alleviate the hardship the people. And yet some still remain optimistic that they can return to their homeland, even after waiting 19 years
