This is not an official top 10 chart. What made me create this list is that I am interested in Ornithology and I wanted to introduce some of the most dangerous birds on Earth. Some of you may not agree with me, but the most important thing is that you should be very cautious if you ever see one of those. Trust me, you do not want to piss them off.

10. The Blakiston’s Fish Owl

This Owl is named after the English naturalist Thomas Blakiston. Blakiston’s Owls hunt their pray in the riparian zones (the zone between river margins) of Hokkaidō, Japan.

9. The Martial Eagle

Martial Eagle is one of the largest kinds of eagles on the planet. It inhabits the semi-open territories of Sub-Saharian Desert.

8. The Steller’s Sea Eagle

This large eagle specie is in the Family of Accipotridae that inhabits the coastal Northern Asia. Steller’s eagles are mostly fish eaters but sometimes water may be included in the menu. Females are much larger than the males, reaching up to 9.5 kg.

7. Cassowaries

Unfortunately, Cassowaries are endangered animals. They are in the family of the large flightless birds in tropical forest of New Zealand. The largest male Cassowaries reach up to 2 meters in height and weight up to 60 kg. They use their strong legs that are equipped with long sharp claws that can inflict a pretty serious injury.

6. The Ostrich

The Ostrich is the largest flightless bird on earth. They can be found in the African savanna. Ostriches are also the tallest birds on Earth, reaching 2.8 meters above ground. They can run with more than 70 km/h.

5. The Harpy Eagle

Now, I do not know if this eagle can be dangerous to humans but it looks very cool. It has double crest, crown on his head and can reach up to 12 kg in captive.

4. The Philippine Eagle

The Great Philippine eagle is famous for its monkey diet. With the incredible wingspan, reaching 2.2 meters the poor little monkeys have no chance of survival.

3. The Bearded Vulture

The bearded vulture a.k.a. lammergeyer (German for lamb vulture) is one of the most predatory vulture species on Earth. However, they would not attack lamb unless it is already wounded or sick. Bearded vultures are also famous for their appetite for bones tissues. They lift the bones high in the air and then drop them on the rocks.

2. The Andean Condor

There are actually two types of Condors – Andean and the Californian Condor. Condors are one of the largest air born birds in the world. These majestic birds wingspan reaches 3.1 m. You’d better stay away from this big fellows.

The Bald Eagle is the national symbol of the U.S.A. They inhabit Alaska, Canada, contiguous United States and northern Mexico. Bald eagles are fish eaters. They snatch their prey out of the water with their sharp claws. They are also famous for the bird that builds nests, reaching 1.1 tons in weight.
