Artist quote:
Even though the way I express my creativity through colours has a wider variety, this type of artwork that I am exposing has roots in a traditional Mexican art form. The technique is actually applying small glass beads (or so called sand beads) on animal or various shaped recycled cardboard or styrofoam one by ne using a special glue. This process might take from 2 weeks to two months or more to complete a piece ( and by this I mean at least 6-7 hours a day) depending on the size of the model and the no. of the beads . My artwork pieces presented here contains between 4000 and 20.000 beads per model. The idea behind this proces is to express and give life to a story made out of small parts. Each creation has a tale and the tale is mostly shaped by the colours . To explain this shortly, when I chose one specific colour and I want it to be next to another one the lines, the shapes and the patterns have to change , bend , change direction in order to fit the colour combination. At the end of the process the result is a balance coloured animal shape that has both geometric and chromatic universal tale. But now, I will let the pictures speak for themselves…
