I found her crying behind my shed. She was starving, covered in ticks, weak, could barely walk. I was so happy and relieved when she actually started playing. Made me feel like she was finally going to be OK. That was six months ago. Now she's playful, active, and confident. It's been a really satisfying experience watching her transform to a starved, scared cat to the sweet playful girl she is now.

Thank you to everyone for your comments. We were best friends from high school. I've been in healthcare 35+ years, starting out as an EMT/FF. She relied on me as her healthcare advocate for many years. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer mid 2017 I quit my job and moved to Chicago to help her and care for her, taking her to chemo and doctors appointments. I stayed in the hospital with her for 10 days during Thanksgiving and 8 days during Christmas because she was scared and did not want to be alone. When she passed on 01/04/18 I was standing at her bedside holding her hand. Her day of passing (January 4) is the same as my late grandfather (PawPaw) and a special day. I loved her as my best friend since 1976, and this BoredPanda thread gave me a smile. Thank You to the folks for your kindness

Echo was a girl... and she was famous in my town. She was the first therapy dog to work in my local hospital, and she also did libraries, classrooms and adoption events, so more people knew her than knew me, as I was just her driver 🐶🐶🐶🐶

Unfortunately I do not have a quarantine tank, so if they spawn (which is likely), the babies are sadly going to become fish food if the eggs do not land in a sheltered spot. I have some thickly-planted areas, but that's about it.

Before you decide to breed, go to a few kill shelters. If seeing these pitiful creatures alone and scared doesn't change your mind you are not a true dog lover( or decent human being )In America over 4 million dogs/cats are in shelters and 800,000 are euthanised just because they have the bad luck of being the pet of someone who has died or put in a nursing home.

First time posting a picture so I didn't know how to add the story: My grandmother always kept a huge stash of chocolate in her tiny fridge. On her 100th birthday, we had to move the chocolate out to make room for the food for her party. It melted in the heat of the kitchen and, man, was she upset! Complained about the loss for days. Forget the party - she only remembered losing the chocolate. Still makes me giggle years later.

He has swallowed another thing and now has an intestinal blockage. My aunt claims she can't afford surgery and should euthanize him, but if she really wanted it, she could afford it. I don't want him to die if he can still receive help. He's not eating and is very nauseous. He's not running like he normally does and he is very clearly suffering. This made me feel a little better.
