Video from the making the knife

Carved handle – from leftover of kitchen countertop

First I’ve carved the handle from beech wood. This is a pretty dense wood which allows to make fancy shapes in it using only hands and chisel (You don’t need to work with mallet).

Making the blade – from recycled, broken kitchen knife

Since it would be knife for my son, I’ve made a blade from thin, elastic not very sharp stainless steel. I’ve also made a curved shape of it.
All of this because of safety (and such shape is also better in cutting mushrooms)

Making the putty

I’ve glued blade into the handle and cover the rest of the hole with the putty I’ve made from wood dust and wood glue

The most satysfying part – staining
