Ashley was at a friend’s house when she received a text from her mom along with a photograph of the suspected contraband. “Ashley Carol I will not have drugs in my house,” read Lisa’s angry SMS. “Your (sic) grounded. Come home this instant.” All was forgiven however when Ashley explained to her mom what those “drugs” actually were. Read on for the full hilarious story that’s been liked 65k times on Twitter and shared by almost 50,000 people. The moral of the story? Don’t jump to conclusions. This is actually super adorable that her daughter bought these, and the way it all played out. :)

Mum doesn't even apologise! Just goes from suspicion to accusation to victim blaming in no time. :(

My thoughts exactly! Just because you're a parent does not excuse you of apologising when you are in the wrong.

So you think you find drugs in your daughters room and you just text her to say she's grounded? That's a really wise reaction, sure it work 100% times! Maybe wait till she's home and try to discuss it?.. By the way, I Love the dinosaurs! :D

In a way this overly harsh reaction makes me sad. Trust is the most valuable asset in any relationship, also in the with your children.

Gosh, this seems staged. If not I feel awful that this teen, who is still in touch with her sweet little girl side, by liking spongy dinos, was accused of doing drugs.

Mom has trust issues. Ashley Carol might be "lol'ing" in text, but I have a feeling mom won't be knowing much about what happens in college.

Mothers tend to freak out at the littlest things... literally! I started working out some years ago, and I asked my younger brother to take photos of me topless. My mum walked in on us and freaked out why i was asking my younger brother to take nude photos of me; forgetting that i was in shorts. -_-

Oh and also the reason why SOME mothers "freak out over the littlest things" is because women are judged more harshly with parenting than men are. We have to be extra careful with how we raise children otherwise we are constantly scrutinized by complete strangers and harassed simply because we're "not doing a good job". You can thank this unfortunate misognist world we live in for that.
