Mom Says Son Doesn’t Go On Dates Because Of Feminism And Fake Sexual Accusations, And It Hilariously Backfires
This week has delivered an absolute gem of a meme, inevitably linked to the #HimToo #MeToo movements and counter-movements and the swirling debates around sexual assault. The issue, like most seem to be these days, has become deeply partisan as people from opposite ends of the political spectrum rally around each other and solidify their opinions based on the talking heads of their ‘side,’ while nuance and complexity are lost in the shouting.
One mother, whose right to her own opinion is beyond reproach, made the error of assuming that she could speak on her son, Pieter Hanson’s, behalf, and use him as a way to promote her own views. The ensuing episode was brilliant internet in the way it unfolded, firstly with the memes that highlighted the way a mother’s blind love for her son cannot be a guarantor of his good behavior, and secondly the son’s thoughtful, dignified response, upon learning that he had become the center of a mom-induced meme.
Mom herself doesn’t appear to be a frequent tweeter and can be excused for her naivety on this one. She certainly didn’t expect a response like this! Her sons’ exemplary behavior, asserting their independence from her views in a calm and respectful manner, shows that she has raised them well. I think she's one of those moms that feel her children are her property. She's genuinely proud of them and wants to show them off like it's her duty. In her mind, she did nothing wrong, she probably doesn't even know what she's talking about, that "radical feminists" thing...

Honestly, I feel like we should all stop arguing here. Both men AND women are at equal disadvantages. Women feel less safe in public spaces, face harassment, and men have longer jail sentences, and are less likely to get custody of a child if the parents divorce. And third wave feminism also kind of sucks. At this point, Western women in developed countries aren't at all oppressed anymore. Instead of focusing on issues that don't really matter, we should try to help people that are actually being dramatically effected by others' laws and actions.advocating for rights for people who don't need them, we should concentrate on the issues that actually put our

Hello everyone. A really loud hello to those who insulted & swore at me. I am a 56 year old woman; I live in South Africa; I live in a society where 2 out of 3 women have been sexually abused and/or raped. I work in an organisation that has 7 women employed - of those 7, 5 have suffered life altering sexual abuse. I am not ignorant of the fact that there is women on men abuse (including violence). My childhood abuser was a woman! I come from a long line of very strong women. I believe and work for empowering women, for educating women and standing side by side with them. Crazy feminist - yes that's me. I am proud of myself for having survived the life I was dealt. Before you tell me to F-off, etc., etc., walk in my shoes and live in my brain. I do not comment on fora such as Bored Panda to get the most upticks; I comment as I know I have so much to learn, and in that learning, I can give to others.

pt 2. The fact that you, as an ADMITTED "crazy feminist" are quote: "educating women", is terrifying beyond belief. Take a look at statistics — you'll find that women in 2018 are the most unhappy they've been at ANY point in recorded history. Why is it, you may ask, that as women's rights have "progressed", our happiness has declined? Because our inherent biology is being suppressed. Understandably, this will be debated, but biologically women have been happiest as housewives. Nurturing our children, caring for the home, etc. This is NOT to say one cannot be a "strong" woman as a primary caregiver, in fact, quite the opposite. When I think of feminine strength I think of 40's and 50's era women — keeping their households in check, rearing offspring, dealing with the adverse affects of war, ALL while maintaining a ladylike disposition.
