Illustrator Shows How Disney Princesses Would Look Like If They Lived In 2017, And The Result Is Awesome

In recent years, we've seen quite a few reimagined 'modern' versions of the Disney princesses we grew up loving and admiring. This latest interpretation by Chilean digital artist Fernanda Suarez, however, might be the fairest of them all.
Starting with Snow White back in July, Suarez has gone on to illustrate 7 classic princesses in hip, present-day fashion. These sketched-up smoke shows look like they follow Luxy Hair tutorials on YouTube and shop for clothes at Forever 21. They probably post selfies with their 'princes' on Instagram and all agree that NAKED2 is the best eyeshadow palette. Oh yeah, they probably also campaign non-stop on social media for the equal rights of dwarfs, marine wildlife, and big cat conservation.

These are beautiful, and I understand how people can get tired of Disney princesses. Before you complain about "uncreative artists" please understand how the market works. Fanart receives highest ammounts of views, clicks and likes. This is the way to get patreons, a platform that keeps many artist afloat. Original content gets far less attention. This artist also has beautiful original art on her FB, so take a look.
To Meowton: Rembrandt and Dali are dead, but they were paid for their art in some form, and it allowed them to pay bills. The internet means that YOU get to admire some pretty mind-blowing art for FREE. The clicks and views often generate revenue. You don't want to pay for art, and you don't want the artists to get paid otherwise?
raphael and michelangelo (among other famous classical artists) did the same thing artists due when they do fanart. They draw whats popular, the classics drew jesus/god/angels and the new artists draw disney/marvel/pixar
@Meowton Mewsk Like/comments= shares Shares= lots of people seeing your work Which means out of all those people you develop fans, out if all those fans some may be interested in your work, meaning they may purchase your work or hire you, which means money in your pocket, which means you don't have to be a "starving artist" I'm sure were the option available Dali, Rembrant, Picasso, etc... It would have been useful. Plus, it's always nice to know other people enjoy your work. Criticism is ok to, points out things you may have overlooked, or maybe want to go back and alter or consider next time. Your are oversimplifying what the internet can and can't do for artists

I didn't realize the point of art was to get attention and clicks. Someone should inform Rembrandt and Dali.
Artists of the Renaissance (and earlier and later periods) certainly did create the art their patrons wanted. Look at all the paintings of boring, unattractive, unaccomplished rich folks the "Masters" did. Artists have never been able to afford to be as "pure" in their art as you fantasize, unless the artist was already independently wealthy to start with. You are showing your ignorance of art history.
So are you saying that Rembrandt and Dali never created art that their patrons wanted? Cuz I believe they did.

I would have preferred if the artist had at least attempted to capture the true personality of the character and not just generic Kardashian style faces.

But if the are 2017 millenials, they would lack those qualities.
