Deciding whether to have kids, when to have them, and how many to bring into the world is a deeply personal decision every couple gets to make for themselves. But for some reason, there are always other family members who think they should get a say in the matter. As if their lives and bodies were the ones on the line.
That’s exactly the kind of situation one Redditor found herself in. After giving birth to her daughter, she had a hysterectomy, and she and her husband started looking into becoming foster parents. When her mother-in-law found out, she completely lost it, furious that she wouldn’t be getting any more “real” grandchildren.

Honestly reading posts like this make me so, so grateful I got a normal mother in law. So shout out to one of the good ones. When I had to have my hysterectomy and come to terms with the fact that I'd never carry my own child, she was an angel. She wants grandkids desperately but she was nothing but absolutely supportive and wonderful to me after my operation, she never once made it about her feelings or made me feel bad about it. She's a wonderful woman and I'm really lucky to have her. This awful clown in the story doesn't deserve the blessing of grandchildren at all. Witch.

Your body, your choice. And that includes privacy about that body. There is waaayyy too much toxic judgement out there about some women being more 'worthy' than others depending upon: fecundity, the method by which they give birth, whether they breastfeed, the overall appearance of their b**bs, their weight, their hair, their marital status, and so on and so on. It is horrific how many women have internalized misogyny and weaponize it against other women.
