A period is natural. Painting with period blood is NOT natural. Painting your mans face with period blood is NOT natural. TASTING PERIOD BLOOD IS NOT NATURAL!!!! This is nothing more than a cry for any attention possible, be it postive or negative. How sad.

I agree that menstruation should not be considered as taboo theme. in my community young girls are ashamed to mention that they have menstruation, instead they say we have 'guests' or something like this. when you go to shop to buy pads they try to put it in dark bag and give you secretly, as if it utter crime buying them, so, i am all for taking taboo stigma off this subject, but seeing this photos is unsettling and very uncomfortable for me. for me it is not enjoyable seeing some person licking menstrual blood (maybe in the photos it is not real blood but still) or seeing someone painting something with that.as i do not want to see some stranger's vomit or someone's spit on the ground. The first photo was beautiful, though, i probably would have liked it if i did not know it was menstrual blood :D :D menstrual blood is something very intimate that not everyone enjoys bring it out to public, though nobody should be ashamed of it

It's a natural thing and I don't think it's gross. Women need to push against the expectations set by society (e.g. being embarrassed about your period). They actually bleeped out the word "period" in reference to menses - it's not a dirty word-FFS.

I thought a lot of thing were excepted in todays world. Let's love those who stand to be different and those who want to change the way of thinking. It's only disgusting because it's personal opinion. That means you find yourself a disgusting person when you're going through menstruation.

The fact that people here are getting disgusted and negative does not necessarily mean that they are "afraid of their own shadow" (quoting below comment). I got no shame and no disgust from the menstruation (mine at least) and I do agree that with all the blood and violence that media has shown us, THIS blood right here is the most peaceful blood which actually symbolizes "life" and continuation of it. That being said, let's not forget that menstrual blood is what is considered "old" or "dirty" blood which is discharged by a woman's body as a means to cleanse itself. So "tasting" it and putting it on one's face is just absolutely unhygienic and gross. Use red paint to symbolize blood if you want. But these 2 photos have a sick vibe to them, something that should be on sick porn channels. :/

S******g is still a taboo today. In many countries people are still segregated during their time of the day. Even where people go about their usual business during s******g, they still don’t talk about it, it’s not seen. If I smeared s**t all over myself people would assume I was insane, but as it's menstrual blood it's "art".

Female myself, I f*****g hate getting my period - I don't like the smell, how it feels, or getting my clothes dirty with blood. It's no f*****g social construct that I find my periods gross. EVEN THOUGH periods are completely natural. Taking shits is also completely natural and it carries nutrients that bring life to plants and such, but s**t is still gross, wouldn't you agree? And why the f**k does that guy have a finger covered in period blood in his mouth? That's just F**K NO.

It is red paint. Blood is tough to imitate and this type of blood tends to have brown undertones that are missing here. That aside, I've always sensed art that shocks/revolts often does so to compensate a lack. This didn't shock me but I see it may have others.

Nasty, come on now, There is no beauty in that. Would you find beauty in painting fecal or urine matter or watching someone licking it. Thats just too much.Yes its life, but something thats quite personal. Its not that menstruation is nasty in itself, but painting and publicly licking, keep that to yourselfs!
