Matmata International Festival : One Of Many Festivals In Tunisia That Combines Traditions , Authenticity And Difference
During Matmata’s international festival i took the liberty to capture some of the traditions that were showcased
A little Girl from a village called Taoujout , wearing their traditional outfit
An old man doing the traditional dance with guns , that is most known to be danced in weddings. This dance is like a challenge between the groom , the father of the bride and her siblings
A little boy who plays the drum , wearing “Chacheya” which is a Tunisian hat most worn by old men in Tunisia
A young man also wearing “Chacheya”
Ayad ,the pipe player , who enchants everyone by the melodies he plays
A bride reaching for henna to throw it in the air , which is a tradition in the village of Matmata
The dancer , he dances to the tunes of the pipe and the drums
