We’ve Recorded 1-Hour Techno Set From The Top Of Chernobyl’s Sister Nuclear Power Plant
Together with DJ Samanta, we have created an audiovisual project atop of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which is featured in HBO’s cult TV mini-series “Chernobyl”. It took us more than 1 year to get all of the needed permissions for filming and especially drone flights.

Ignalina’s power plant was originally designed to be the bigger sister of the one in Chernobyl since both of them were being constructed during the same period of the Soviet era. The only main difference is that Ignalina’s reactors were three times as powerful as the RBMK reactors in Ukraine. However, due to the significant similarities between reactors’ designs and technologies, after joining the European Union, Lithuania’s sole nuclear power plant had to be shut down from 2009 and is currently being dismantled.
Now closed, Ignalina’s monument is a magnet for tourists and wanderers from all over the world. This is one of the reasons, why with the help of its administrative body, following the strictest safety regulations and planning that lasted for over a year, we got a chance to film the performance.
To capture the magnificence of this radioactive giant, we’ve collaborated with the well-recognized DJ Samanta. The techno-driven DJ delivered a performance, which was thought out to create a complete audiovisual experience, highlighting the brutalist architecture and landscape of the power plant.
