This Artist Illustrated Disney’s “The Lion King” Characters Into Human-Like Creatures (13 Pics)
Most of us have watched The Lion King and enjoyed it thoroughly, and with the newest movie remake out, people have started comparing both versions of the movie. Inspired by shows like Beastars on Netflix and TaleSpin on Disney +, a freelance illustrator from Los Angeles, Marco Bernard, decided to give the movie characters a twist. During the lockdown, he started working on a project titled “Lion King: Pride Land Characters” as he set out to reimagine the movie characters as humanlike as possible.

Scar
He looks like the average gay man in a TV show or movie. I love it.
We looked at a ton of lion king stuff today and I was wearing PJ's with scar on them
Here’s what the artist told Bored Panda:
"I got the idea when the world was on lockdown back in March. I had spent time watching shows like Beastars on Netflix and TaleSpin on Disney + and I thought it would be cool to imagine what Scar would look like as an anthropomorphic character. When seeing the positive reactions after posting the piece to Instagram, I decided to start a series and I drew a new character every day. The series was called “Pridelands.” I imagined these characters to exist in a modern society with 21st-century hobbies and occupations. I also placed them in a dramatic setting—a world that was riddled with crime and deception."
Mufasa
Why do I hear a certain Isaac Hayes song in my head when I look at this? "Shut yo mouth...I'm just talkin about Mufasa"
Rafiki
Kiara And Kovu
Although I've never watched any other movie in the Lion King franchise besides the first, I'm pretty sure that's Kiara and Kovu.
I was going to say the same thing. I also haven't seen any of the offshoots of the Lion King other than the first one, but that's definitely Kiara and Kovu from the second movie, Simba's Pride.
Load More Replies...Yeah that kiara and kovu. I know because I have seen these way before they decided to post it here
Well actually no. Zira and Simba re roughly around the same age and so is Kiara and Kovu. Kovu was Scar's chosen Heir but he isn't really scar's son. Zira Most likely met up with a rogue lion before she came to pride rock and got pregnant with Kovu.
Load More Replies...Shenzi
Uh sorry but that wasn't her name. Her name was Shenzi. Shenzi, Banzai and...Ed. Lol but I love your depiction of her I really do!!!
Shenzi, and I couldn't find anyhtong about a "Yena" from a Lion King movie anywhere.
Load More Replies...Simba And Nala
Kiara
Timon And Pumbaa
I think there was an entire episode on Timon and Pumba where Pumba is pretending to be Timon's wife when his mother come to see him. This feels like a clue.
Load More Replies...NOOOO!!! Timon and Pumba are way friendlier than this!!!! Why is put a holding a bloody tusk!?!?!?? Why is time holding a freakin spear!!!!!
Vitani
Kovu
Baby Simba
Simba
Zira
No. She is a huntress. Would not wear high heels and uncomfortable suits.
Oh.. I don't know. She has a "Kill Bill" thing going on here.
Load More Replies...Just me or does this seem like a weird kink? Like I get the concept and it's well implimented...but like big busted lions?
What’s likely going on is the person is a furry. It’s a common misconception that the furry fandom is all about sex— in reality it’s just rule 34. The fathers of the furry fandom were just animators who liked animals, but according to them, when lewd stuff happened in the fandom it was fine because humans do lewd stuff sometimes. It could very well be a kink but in this case I don’t think so
Load More Replies...Except Timon and Pumbaa. They're just standing there repeating the 4 same sentences of dialogue, since you haven't broken stealth yet.
Load More Replies...Can we see what Disney princesses would look like as Lion King characters?
I think that this is pretty cool. Sure, some of it's a little odd, but still
Hey look, it's this subset of human culture again. I like this subset of human culture, since it combos well with aliens.
