Leaf Shaker, Ooak Creature Made Of Airdry Clay

This wood spirit travels around the world during the late autumn. His duty is to tear away colorful dry leaves from trees and shrubs, making perennial plants ready for the winter. For this purpose Leaf Shaker carries a long crooked stick and a sphere with frosty northern wind within it. The moonstone illuminates his way in the darkness, it hangs on squeaking hooked twig and sways in tune with spirit’s steps.

Spirit leisurely walks from tree to tree, rustling with his staff in the crowns and carefully shaking leaves down from every branch. Everything that staff will not reach will be picked with teeth of hungry strong wind released from the sphere. Leaves fall on the spirit’s body, sticking to his head and back, but he doesn’t shake it off and wanders, covered with red and yellow foliage like he is dressed in carnival costume .

Spirit’s eyes are full of thick, wet and sticky autumn fog. People on whom Leaf Shaker looks start feeling chilly and dank, but it is completely harmless to their health. It’s enough to drink a cup of hot coffee or cocoa – and this bad feeling will immediately go away.

And if someday, one deaf autumn night you suddenly see milky radiance of moonstone and outlines of this spirit, don’t panic and run away. It’s better to tell him something good – and you’ll get a gift from him: one beautiful autumn leaf from somewhere you have never been to.
