Layered Wood Art, Cut With A Laser

These pieces are made out of 1/8″ sheets of plywood. First, the sheets are cut to a manageable size, around 1′ by 2′, to reduce warpage since the laser will catch on them and drag the sheet if they are not extremely flat. Next, they are taped to the bed of the machine, the file is uploaded, and the laser goes to work! After all of the sheets have been cut they are glued together and stained. That’s it! Each piece takes a few hours to complete.
