I was forced to attend a Puerto Rican/Dominican wedding that I really didn't want to attend, but had to due to in-law relations and had I had to be nice. I do not like Hispanic music or Hip-Hop, at all. I knew that there would be an extremely loud DJ, who would play nothing but salsa/merengue/latino music, at an ear-splitting volume, along with a lot of South Bronx hip-hop, which I truly detest. Obviously, some people like that, but I do not. I spent most of my time during the wedding outside of the venue to get away from the noise. I just couldn't stand it. Am I TAH?

Yup, YTA. If you are sensitive to loud sounds, you could have brought some earplugs or loop ear buds. But it sounds like it’s more the music choice you disliked and it’s not your day or your choice. You said you had to go and be nice, but did you really do that by standing outside? So many better options - leaving after the service, staying to socialise for an hour and then leaving or not going at all. You expected to have a bad time and you did. I hope the couple were having too much fun to notice.
