Jerks come in many shapes and forms. But heaven forbid that you give a jerk even the tiniest bit of authority or power because they’ll abuse it as much as they can. Not convinced? Take a look at how some delivery drivers act when they think that nobody is looking!
They eat your food. They sip your drinks. They lick your spoons. They leave your brand new TV and computer screen sitting on your porch for anyone passing by to take. And they stuff your new vinyl into your postbox, breaking it. Yup, they’re jerk delivery drivers, and whether they’re delivering food or things, you can bet your bottom dollar that they’re taking their road, not the high road.
We here at Bored Panda have compiled this entertaining list of delivery drivers acting like some of the biggest jerks in the entire world. Scroll down, upvote what you think are the worst examples of human behavior, and share this post with your friends, so that the next time some pizza toppings are missing, they know who ate them. If you’re in the mood, why not check out some of our other posts about birds acting like jerks, jerk bosses being shamed for their nasty behavior, and tourists being utter jerks.

Looks Like I Won't Be Listening To My New Vinyl Record. Thanks, USPS
I'm a mail carrier, and even I think that is a huge "oh no you didn't".
This is completely unacceptable behavior from the post office. They should buy you a new one and fire that carrier.
My First 4k TV Finally Arrived!
I call b******t on this. No brand new television arrives with support stands/legs pre-installed. This was clearly assembled first, followed by damage centered on an impact zone at top left. In addition, what on earth would possess someone to plug it in and turn on a likely electrical hazard that is apparently so clearly irreparable.. What a surprise - more b******t.
That is why purchasing this kind of appliances personally instead of doing it online is a must!
Lesson: Never have electronics be mailed to you.. This is the reason why... Very hard to prove that it's their fault.
Yeah - sooner or later that's going to be the only way you can buy electronics.

The same thing happened yesterday to my daughters certificate. I contacted Australia Post via twitter, and they told me they "don't offer a 'do not bend' service, and that their priority is actually just getting it there. In other words, we don't care about your s**t.
that's like a chef offering raw chicken to a diner "just to get it there"
Load More Replies...I'm so sorry! Will it not flatten out matted and inside a frame? And if not, have you asked the school if they will produce another for you? If they decline, ride them. It's just not hard to do .... First, get a different department on the line. Think about how much money you've given them over the course of your studies. Throw that number around. Good luck!!
How frustrating and sad- apparently the delivery person didn't go to school as they can't read!
It happened the same to my degree, big words, DO NOT BEND to be signed for. The scumbag folded it and pushed it through the letterbox. I think it's deliberate. Intellectual jealousy
But do they get any adverse consequences for their absolute lack of professionalism?
When I reported this kind of thing (also, opened mail with items missing) the supervisor didn't care at all and defended the carrier.
Load More Replies...Now, the fact of the matter is, far from every delivery driver out there is a jerk. Most of them are decent people who do their duty; otherwise, the entire delivery system would collapse. Yet once in a while, people manage to take photos or film real jerks on the job who don’t respect anyone but themselves.
This Amazon Delivery Man Who Delivers A Package And Then Steals It Himself
Thankfully he was caught on camera, hopefully he got the sack and the police got involved.
I see no proof of theft. He could have moved it for any reason. Could be the wrong house. Pics could be out of order
Amazon doesn't give a flying f**k about any of the Sellers (I'm a 3rd Party Vendor), the Buyers are all that matter (which can be a problem because it makes it easy to get stolen from) so you better bet your sweet a*s he was fired immediately for that s**t. I'd be surprised if they didn't fire him by phone instead of at the Office.
Okay so he puts the box down checks the scanner sees that it requires a signature picks the box up and takes it back. This does not mean that he stole it.
Yes it does if it didn't need a signature. And if it did, why didn't he come back the next day to deliver it or leave a notice he was there but couldn't leave it due to signature?

UPS Delivery Driver Caught Peeing In Elevator En Route To Deliveries In My Old Building
The building I lived in had a strict hoa and i had just gotten a puppy. I was always so nervous the smell of urine in the elevator was from her peeing without me noticing. this was a relief to see.
I love when the world's dumbest people get caught doing something and they look RIGHT at the camera and then have a look of shock. It's like hey dumbass, it's 2019 Cameras are EVERYWHERE
I love that they not only called him out, but also posted a pic for all to see, LOL!
Why doesn't he carry a empty two litre soda bottle with him and he can pee in his van discreetly I was brought up with 5 brothers so I have heard all their woes and moans about driving with no toilet breaks
I very briefly did a stint as a delivery driver and the need to pee often drove me crazy. Luckily I was mostly on a rural route and could find discrete lanes to park in. Not always though. Obviously, would never contemplate going IN a building though.
Horrible! When I was in college the men's dorm elevators had carpeting going halfway up the walls of the elevator car, it always had that disgusting pee smell and you were told as part of the "freshman orientation" to NOT lean up against the walls of the men's elevator cars!
I’m A Carrier For USPS. I Ordered My Uniforms For The Year A Few Days Ago And This Is How They Arrived. So Is This Why We Have A Bad Rep?
And what happens if you do actually report it as received in damaged condition?
Well, what had happened when this happened to me, they asked me, "Did you insure it?" And, I hadn't. They said, "Sorry, nothing we can do for you, next time insure it." Mind you, my package looked like it had been thrown down several flights of concrete stairs - just absolutely destroyed like the box in this post. And, that was their attitude. I said to them, "The fact I didn't insure it shouldn't give you the right to destroy my belongings. You know why you're losing money every year? Because of sh!t like this!" But, they don't give a c**p, they are run by the government, what do they care?
Load More Replies...The delivery person was checking the size before s/he stole them. Apparently they didn't fit.
Well at least he /she knows that there are some really awful delivery folks working for USPS and he works for them himself. I hope he reported this! OMG!
Adam Lapetina writes on Thrillist what being a delivery driver is really like. According to him, it’s “one of the more underappreciated gigs in the service industry,” it’s fast-paced, and it can drive away those who can’t handle the pressure.
Hopefully No One Will Notice The Delivery...
well... how else they're gonna make them not obvious if you're getting car tyres delivered to your door?

Load More Replies...Speaking as an ex domino manager, I can confirm that a lot of staff do go hungry during their shift. The policy is that we are allowed either a small personal pizza with 2 toppings or 2 sides instead, be it a 10 hour shift or 12 hours, any shift less than 4 hours gets s**t all.

Delivery drivers have some perks. Depending on where you live, sometimes police officers avoid giving delivery drivers tickets for speeding if they’re rushing to get food to a ravenous customer. However, someone being hungry isn’t a good excuse to speed: it’s dangerous and puts everyone at risk. Not even pizza’s worth getting into an accident over.
Over The Past Six Months, Canada Post Has Lost Three Packages For Me, All Of Which It Claims To Have Delivered. I Think I Discovered The Reason Why Today

Load More Replies...Similar thing happened to me.... I was wondering where my package was as they were arguing that it was delivered. I live on the 3rd floor, it's a walk up but MOST of the delivery guys are very good about delivering as they know the mailboxes on the ground floor are NOT secure. I looked at everyone's door, down by the mailboxes and finally gave up. I'm leaving for work, I ride the bus so I'm on my way out to the sidewalk. I notice a box out there and it's my frigging order, sitting out on the curb where ANYONE could have walked off with it. I was LIVID. I missed my bus, took the box upstairs, booted up the computer and wrote a very very stern note to UPS about this. I mean really! With today's thefts from desperate people it's bad enough to leave it downstairs but on the curb, next the fire hydrant? HORRIBLE!
The "Obstruction Of My Front Door" That Prevented UPS From Delivering My Package...
UPS delivers packages up to 150lbs. Over 70 lbs. the driver is required to use a hand cart. There appears to be not enough space between the snow blower and the curb edge for a hand cart, so if it was a large package, this is a homeowner fail, not a driver fail.
Well obviously that thing might start itself and charge after the delivery person.
The grass is green which means it's nowhere near winter, how can you live with a snowblower by your front door year round?

I don't get it. Needless to say the cable box was was crushed into a v shape.

When I have complained of missing packages I have actually had Amazon people telling me to walk around my house and look under all my shrubs. Let's ignore the fact that I'm hope 99% of the time die to pain & illness, that I have covered porch and an over sized mailbox, why would my packages be in the bushes?
Load More Replies...Furthermore, delivery drivers tend to have a lot of ‘me’ time on their hands, which means getting to know yourself much, much better over the course of your day job. It sounds like the perfect gig if you’re feeling a bit lost in life and need to think things over while getting paid. Just remember to act in the same way you’d expect others to act with you. And don’t eat lick your customers’ spoons.
P.S. We Also Poured Sugar In Your Gas Tank And Ran Over Your Cat. We Hope You Understand. Love, The USPS
Took the time to add the note but nowhere does it say "to report a claim do this..." Outrageous.
Not a: "we'll try to re-compensate you for the package we utterly destroyed", but instead a 'apology' note that states practically the same thing in every paragraph
"occasionally this will occur because of the great volume handled.." aka "when we're really busy we occasionally throw s**t around."
I know quite a few former USPS employees. It takes a lot to lose ones job with the postal service. Let's just say all these employees were well pickled at the times they left, so they had plenty of time on the sauce to do God-knows-what with your packages.

Was "put it through the window here" part of the delivery instruction? Because if so, it's the customer's fault for not anticipating this to happen in their weird delivery spot, but if not I have multiple questions, first being why the postal worker would think to slip it through the window.
The most curious question is... How did the parcel end up in the toilet and none of the candles didn't...???
I think he could see the candles and reached over them.
Load More Replies...They tried to actually get the parcel inside... and they apologised. unfortunate, but i would understand
I Got Swatted And Ordered A New Door, What The F**k
"I got swatted"... WTF. Is that a regular event? Also, who orders _doors_ via mail? This stinks.
op might be a streamer. getting swatted means that some douche viewer found the streamers personal info (address, name, etc) and called their local police saying something that needs a swat team. i'm assuming you know how aggressive a swat team is, also buying furniture online is pretty common, but getting a door probably is a weird thing to order online.
Load More Replies...They opened it, took the door out and then arranged this photo as a scam
Pre-Swatted door. 'We collapse the door so the SWAT don't have to'
If it's a metal door it can bend. It takes quite a bit of effort though.
Indeed fairly certain scam picture. If it were bent metal, they'd pose the package with the ends or middle on ground, showing it sticks up/supports itself. Also you wouldn't photograph it inside the house, as you'd just not take it in nor accept. In any case the cardboard would be more damaged than the inside. This is just an empty cardboard box.
Load More Replies...This Was Just Delivered. My Door Opens Out

Load More Replies...They do this to me constantly. I truly think this is a form of passive-aggressiveness. I used to think it was just carelessness but after it happened too many times to count and when considering I have a very large porch it seems intentional.
This has happened to me. Place it right in front of the door, so you can barely open the door up to get it!
My Arrowhead delivery guy does the same thing with 5 gal. bottles, like wtf dude

I Was Told That It Would Require A Signature, Apparently Not
Fedex always does that - drops and runs.. If I'm lucky and they knock, by the time I get to the door they already in the van :D
No, sometimes they don't bother bringing out the package and go from door to door with notices.
Load More Replies...I watched one come to my front door, from my very obvious front window next to that door. He never knocked or rang the doorbell. Without missing a beat, he put the notice of attempted delivery sticker on my door and practically sprinted back to his truck and left. I immediately called FedEx to report the incident. They weren’t helpful at all, and didn’t even try to schedule him to swing back by the house that day. The next day, I was the one sprinting—-out the door the minute I saw his truck enter my driveway. Needless to say, I told him I was watching him the previous day, and reported it to his company. I really don’t like having to be that kind of hard a*s, and know how pressured FedEx and UPS drivers can be, but I also have my limits. He has never tried that maneuver again.
As a delivery driver who wants to maintain a career for life, I can tell you that this is appalling and would not be caught dead doing this. I can also tell you that management in this industry is borderline abusive in regards to time and workload. We often work 10-12 hour days at nearly a running pace to try and keep up. Ringing a doorbell and waiting for sometime takes precious time away from us that we just don't have. If I give every one of my 90 deliveries only 30 seconds of waiting time, that adds up to 45 minutes on top of my existing day. Not including the other unforeseen circumstances that stall productivity. Kindly leave a note for your delivery person with your preferred instructions.
There is always an other side to each story...
Load More Replies...If the package was actually sent SIGNATURE REQUIRED, then call to find out where your package is. When you're told it was dropped off, ask who signed for it.
If it requires a signature, and it has that type of personal information, and they drop it off like that you can file with the police under attempted ID theft. The delivery person will get in a lot of trouble, nothing legally will happen that him/her, but the headache will cause fedex some issues
Fortunately in my country if no one will receive your package they will message/call you or notify you that the delivery will be moved to another day since they can't leave the item without any person to hand it over.
FedEx drops mine over the fence, doesn't matter if it is raining or not. (Yes that has happened) I asked one driver, when I caught him to please bring me the package to the door as I am disabled, he said he couldn't because if he damaged the gate while entering he was liable. I wish FedEx would collapse!!
The Way Both FedEx And UPS Deliver My Packages (Caught By Security Cam)
I think it is, actually. There's more liability involved in going up a flight of stairs, and greater risk of injury for the employee. Some packages I get are placed on the top step, a few get as far as the door. Either way, I don't care unless it's raining.

I once had a book shipped from the U.K. to the U.S. It was shipped Media Mail, as this is how the bookstore shipped out all their books, and bubblewrapped, and in a solid little rectangular box with the label of the bookstore on. obviously a book. It got checked by USPS to see if it was indeed a book, and not smth else labeled as media mail, by cutting off one of the corners of the box, like a BIG corner. The book came missing a corner of half of its pages.....
Obviously delivery companies need remedial reading for the employees
that is the biggest Fragile sticker I've ever seen and still, the package gets damaged???
So? If someone put it, then you should assume the inside is fragile and handle with care, just like asked for. You would expect exactly the same kind of service if you were the one sending the package with that sticker on it.

After Amazon Has Delivered 3 Of My Dad’s Packages To Neighbors Who Refuse To Give Them Back, He Has Left The Delivery Man A Little Help

Load More Replies...I used to live in an apartment building and get those Blue Apron food delivery boxes. Stolen every week. None of my neighbors confessed. Load More Replies...My wife ordered a package of expensive soaps and beauty products. It was a small box. What we received was a large box with a BBQ. My wife noticed it had a neighbors address on it (a few streets over). We drove the box over and knocked on the door. Lady opens the door and we tell her we have her package. We introduce ourselves and tell her we live at the same house number but a few streets over and the delivery guy must have misread the street name. She asks for help in bringing in her the heavy box. When we step into her house I see a package ripped open on her counter. Every item is opened and several are sampled. I walk up and check the name on the label and sure enough - its ours. The delivery guy must have accidental switched them. When I point out that is our stuff she just shrugs and says she though it was a gift for her. Then she just dumps everything into a plastic bag and hands to me. People are jerks.
The neighbours refuse to give them back?? WTF is wrong with them?! You need to call the cops, that's stealing.
If the neighbor wont give it back that is a felony and you should file criminal charges with the police. My sisters work had a package delivered to the house across the street from their office building (with the company logo on top in big letters than no delivery person could miss), the person wouldnt give it back, by the days end they person had the police there and everything, and now has a criminal record.
If they are refusing to return the packages then you can call the police as it is illegal to tamper with mail of any description and also it is theft
Amazon told me two different times that the packages I said weren't delivered actually were. They said they could track the driver and see that he had been on my street. They said I may want to check with my neighbors. All of them?how many, 10, 20, how many is enough? They also told me to check under all my shrubbery. I felt like I was being trolled. But let's at least acknowledge that just because he came on my street doesn't mean he actually delivered my package or that it's my responsibility to track it down. After this happened multiple times they switched my driver and the problem cleared up.
Switched him? Sacked him probably but didn't want to admit that you were right and he wasn't delivering.
Load More Replies...I live in the country and the delivery people come here all the time with packages for me. I have had this same problem several times. It has to be a substitute driver that delivers to someone else. The worst part is knowing that someone nearby has received my packages and has just kept them! I just don't understand why people do that! If I still drove I would head down the road looking for my packages. If I received someone else's package I would call and report it, not think it was my lucky day. People are such a******s!
Most Recent FedEx Delivery. A Solid Half Mile From Our House. Thanks To A Neighbor Who Saw It Happen And Called Us Several Hours Later So We Could Recover
Our driveway curves not 6 feet from my front porch...FEDEX throws packages at it
Had a very large and heavy volume on photography dropped off by the garage door of a young lady who very thankfully brought to me at my house, and sadly in a heavy downpour. FedEx at their very best.
I've done that myself when delivering a package. FedEx and UPS have rules about going down long driveways with snow and ice. If we get stuck, we get a warning letter equivalent to that of an accident. Furthermore, it gets dark early in winter. We have no idea what is down your driveway: A big dog? No turn-around? Low-hanging trees? At least the driver tied it where it could be seen. They could have taken it back to the station with a note that the driveway was not clear to get to the house. Then you'd have to come pick it up.
Living in rural area, I've had thia multiple times especially in winter. I could literally write a book on azzhole deliveries.
Well, they put it in a plastic bag in case it was there for 2 or 3 days! 🤭

Got A Delivery At Work And Saw This In The Van, Thats Going To Suck For Someone Else!
Whoever put the white straps on is most likely at fault. They are so taut that the package can’t be straight up anyway.
Yes, it should have wooden or metal panel the same size, but that would make package more expensive
Load More Replies...I used to work for a glassier and after getting complaints that the glass panels were getting damaged he sent a thin steel plate. The next delivery was picked up by a different driver and had explained that the regular driver broke his foot after kicking our parcel. He now sends them with ply wood covers
Again who keeps delivery people that can’t read their own stickers that say Fragile handle with care.
Fragile stickers can't be read by conveyor belts and other package handling systems, this poorly packed shipment looks like it became trapped between a few heavier boxes and the packaging wasn't rigid enough to avoid damage. This is totally a shipper fail, not the fault of the delivery company.
My Book Was Delivered Today...
This is the most annoying thing about ordering books online, they're always creased or bent. It's more convenient ordering online but it's so much hassle...

That's not apple cider it's apple cider vinegar. I use the same brand and it's just cheaper to buy online.
Yeah - the word apple in cider is redundant. Cider is made from apples. Apple cider vinegar on the other hand...

My last chewy.com order had a kibble bag with a tear in it and a couple of plastic containers of Temptation squeezed enough to shatter and treat all inbox. I took a pic and sent to chewy asking them to remind packers to be more careful. I did NOT ask for replacements. I got a nice email from them saying they would investigate and today I got a new 22 lb bag of kibble and two containers of Temptations the same as I ordered. They have GREAT Customer Service.
No, I blame the company for this one. You shipped a glass bottle with a single layer of bubble wrap. The box isn't even marked fragile. They skimpt oh shipping cost to increase profits.
Years ago a friend of mine worked in a British Mail sorting office before xmas to make a bit extra money. Said that a lot of the older workers would recognise if bottles of spirits were being posted and would smash the packages and strain the contents through nylon stockings into their own bottles.

Happens to me more often than not, especially since all mail in my town is delivered to a post office box. One "neighbor" received a supply of personal checks. He brought them to me 2 months after delivery, stating that it wasn't his name on the checks. It wasn't his name on the package either.
Load More Replies...Perhaps it went to another address, that person just opened all of their mail at once, without looking at the name, and once looked at, realized it wasn't theirs and put it back in the mail. I don't know why everyone is so bent out of shape here. Yes, it's illegal to tamper, but it may have been an accident.
That’s happened me a lot.my mailman started dropping stuff without apartment numbers in our box because it’s the first one. I would tape it back up and write a note and put it in the correct mailbox.
Load More Replies...It’s illegal in Australia to tamper with someone else’s mail. It is a Commonwealth offence and can include jail time. In saying that we don’t know the situation here. The letter could have been put in a neighbours letterbox by accident and the neighbour opened it not realising it wasn’t theirs so taped it up and delivered it to the right address. I have accidentally opened someone else’s mail when it was delivered to my house instead.
Here in the US, the Federal Trade Commission says it's illegal to open mail misdirected to your address. It is not illegal if it was opened by accident. I want to know, how do they prove one way or the other?
Load More Replies...How do you know you could trust a messenger on horseback not to open your mail?
I flip all my mail over and open it all at once. I am guilty of having accidentally opened my neighbors mail. Tape with a note of apology. They're always grateful that I walked it over to their house which isn't close by. Never once having read it. That would be creepy and wrong.
It was probably just delivered to the wrong house who assumed it was theirs, and then had the decency to re-mail it.
That has happened to me - I opened a neighbours letter by mistake as I didn't turn it over to check it actually was for me. Assuming it was as it had arrived in my own home after all.

That is so you will know it was delivered because ringing the doorbell is too much of a hasle.
That’s been happening to me lately. 3 heavy items were stacked on top of each other in front of my door and the guy rang the bell and ran. In reply to "Monday" saying they don't get paid enough to deliver it dry...umm considering they make an average of almost $52k a year (almost $25 an hour) I'd say that YES THEY DO GET PAID ENOUGH TO GIVE A RIP!! Some are just lazy and choose not too obviously
I have to give FexEx props in my neighborhood - when it looks like rain (or it is raining), they will cover my packages with plastic.
Load More Replies...Wow, both my USPS andFedEx delivery people are great! If I have a package being delivered on a rainy day that won't fit in my mailbox, both these delivery drivers put it in a plastic bag and leave it on my porch, if they can't get the door to my enclosed porch open. I guess it depends on where you live, and how much your delivery people care about their customers. Sounds like "Monday" doesn't give a rat's behind about their customers.
UPS drivers and postal workers get paid enough to deliver this stuff to the porch. Also, it doesn't matter when the rain starts. You are still supposed to deliver the package to the porch.
um... so maybe it was dry when your parcel arrived? didn't you check the delivery date on Amazon? so are they supposed to take it back when they see clouds? maybe order it to a mail box or Amazon box . duh.
well if you want to get big boxes delivered then you either need to get a post office box or something they can put them in to keep them dry.
Here in Germany packages have to be delivered directly. And in case you are not home and no neighbor is there to take it for you, you need to pick it up from the closest mail service station.
I bet the customer had a porch. Darn Delivery person must have thought they were going to melt !

Gotta agree. You wanna buy a surprise, put in a little effort.
Load More Replies...They do that alot with some bigger items, there is a box to check when ordering if it is a gift, that way they know to box it.
Also an explanation saying if things come in a box where the item is obvious. This is the 'mom's' fault.
Load More Replies...That is not the delivery guys fault, or Amazon's. How are they to know it is a present? There are options on Amazon, like gift wrapping and 'deliver in a plain box' . Mom was just lazy.
Amazon typically notes on the item, before you buy it, that it is shipped in a box that reveals what is inside.
Yeah this is a learning moment... when you order something that needs to be concealed ask Amazon to ship it in an Amazon box. I don't blame them for wanting to save packaging materials when it's not obviously needed.
When I order from Amazon, they have a question at checkout where you can tell them to ship it in another box.

Honestly that one's not too bad, I can't see the package and if I was passing by would just assume that the mat got kicked around a bit
After seeing all this package murder and mayhem I'm convinced there are still plenty of Neanderthals in this world
The Fed Ex guy put my package inside the recycling bin next to the front door. I received notification that it was delivered. It took me several hours to find it by ACCIDENT. Before I found it I checked with my neighbors who have similar addresses and called the merchant to tell them the package was not delivered. The merchant agreed to reship the lost package. Then I discovered the box in my recycling bin by chance. I called the merchant again to tell them the shipment was found and I called FedEx to complain about hiding my box! Another time before the FedEx guy unexpectedly hid the box under a garbage can cover.
I don't understand why people keep ordering stuff when they are not home to accept the delivery, and then expect the delivery guy to figure something out. Either be home, get an alternative (deliver at pickup point? neighbors?) or provide a safe space to put the delivery. What do you want the delivery guy to do with a huge package and a tiny mailbox? He's not doctor Who, your mailbox is not the Tardis.
I don't know how it is in the US, but in my country sometimes couriers will not call you or send a message in advance, so you have no idea when they will be coming. I had this happen to me twice, the courier would call me when they're waiting at my door with no prior warning my package would be delivered that day. But if you're not at home they will never just leave your stuff outside, it gets taken to an office or you make arrangements for another delivery date.
Load More Replies...I’m so thankful for the couriers and posties that have delivered my mail and packages. Whilst they are not perfect and people in those companies can do the same as what the USPS does at least the ones that do my area are decent. One thing for sure is I will never order Uber eats because there have been numerous reports of people taking bites or stealing customers orders.
I wonder how much it cost to send packages in the US and what the rules are. Over here (EU country) if it doesnt fit true the mailbox opening, it is treated as a package and the delivery person will ring the door. If youre not at home, they try some neighbors. If nobody is home, it will go to a pick-up point nearby.
In the US they don't try neighbors unless instructed, or if it's a small town and the carrier knows you and the neighbor.
Load More Replies...I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that these delivery guys are allowed to just drop stuff off even if there is no one to receive it. In my country that never happens, if you're not at home they will take to an office or return on another day. Most delivery companies here will notify you at least a day in advance of delivery, but some don't (or they use online trackers which in my experience have often been unhelpful) and it's not reasonable to expect that working people will stay home for days waiting on a delivery. And I can't believe the carelessness with which the packages are treated.
With exception to the folded stuff and all the obvious *ssholery, if it was broken somewhere in the delivery proces, there is nothing the person delivering the goods can do. It's a one way street It's up to the customer what happens to broken goods. They cannot return packages on their own. And there is zero margin to personalize the experience. We want it delivered at the lowest possible prices, we get what we pay for. Minimal and error prone service.
Load More Replies...All those folded certificates.....but US mail boxes look too small to take a standard A4 sized envelope so what is the delivery guy supposed to do?
As a postie myself these photos make me sad. I try my hardest to be extremely careful with everything. I never doorstep parcels because I know how angry I'd be if my parcel was dumped on mine. Actually one was recently by another company. Twice.
Worked fine for me - but as Natasha suggested I was there to take delivery.
Load More Replies...I'm very surprised with all of this. In Europe, at least in my country, if nobody's at home, you get a notice in your mail box to pick up your package at the Post office. And you need to bring that notice (it has some number somewhere on it), and some kind of ID.
I live in CA; the carrier left a Notice on my door when I wasn't home to receive a delivery. The package could be claimed at the P.O. with the Notice. This seemed to be standard protocol; the carrier is already at the address; carriers have Notice forms.

People complain about doing this kind of work and I totally get but if it's your job you've got to get it done, and do it right you can't take it out on the customer.
