Kenichi Morinaga’s cat photography proves that you do not need a grand setup to capture something unforgettable. Whether he is photographing cats lounging in the sun, wandering through quiet streets, or getting caught in perfectly timed funny moments, his images are full of personality. With a sharp eye for expression and timing, Morinaga turns everyday encounters into photos that feel both charming and memorable, showing just how much character cats can bring to even the simplest scene.
Best known as a cat photographer from Japan, Morinaga has built a following through his playful, expressive images, while also organizing the traveling exhibition “Neko ga Suki Ten” (“I Love Cats Exhibition”). My Chausettes sleeps like this when she's totally relaxed.
Oh, I thought this was an eye exam. iPhones haven't quite gotten that capability yet 🤔?
My little boy chases his older sisters and harasses them like this.
Looks like the Flehmen's response was activated by him sniffing her 'tail' for a detailed chemical analysis, especially pheromones.
I am like putty when it comes to kitties. Or should I say I am like putty when it comes to puddy tats?
The photographer has a great eye for spacing. Or is it the cats that have the eye for spacing?
What lovely markings. Somebody give me the genetics here, please.
Happy to see a lot of eartip clips (the triangular bit cut into one ear) that indicates the cat has been "TNR" - "trap, neuter, release". This means that someone has humanely trapped the cat and has taken it to a vet to be vaccinated, checked for immediate illnesses that can be treated, and spayed/neutered. The vets clip the tip of the ear like that during sterilization surgery so that no one re-traps that specific cat for TNR. Cat is released when it has recovered, and then it can live its life healthier and safer and without producing tons of kittens!
I understand why I can't have any more cats, because of my age, but I miss them so.
I just adopted a 8-year-old Chihuahua mix. I got a dog instead of a cat for a couple of reasons. There are lots of older animals in the shelters for us older folks.
