Issue 1 Of A New Webcomic ‘Fat Cat’

The story follows the life of Fat Cat, a successful businessman who has crawled his way up the corporate ladder to his current role as CEO of Furball Foods, a privately owned food processing company.

The first issue is his interview for the role of CEO at Cat Food plc, a UK listed global food manufacturer. The Chairman of Cat Food plc, Happy Cat, has been monitoring his progress at Furball Foods and is considering him for the top role at his company.

The story is a modern take on the classic Animal Farm, by George Orwell, with the enemy of Capitalism in Fat Cat rather than Communism. It aims to show some of the consequences of letting greed go unchecked in a Capitalist environment.

Fat Cat is a fun, gregarious character, but when there is money to be made, he will do whatever it takes to get his paws on the prize.

In subsequent issues we will see Fat Cat at work, squashing his employees, turning them into subservient beings, who he uses in his quest for even greater success and wealth. He is inducted into the mysterious Cat Club, where members of the top echelons of society go to socialise and where deals are done behind closed doors.

Will Fat Cat achieve his dreams of achieving great wealth and success? Will Fat Cat’s greed ultimately be his undoing? All will be revealed over the 12 issues of this webcomic.

I have worked in a variety of businesses over the last 20 years and have seen a wide range of abuses of power at the top of the companies I’ve worked for. I will be highlighting some of the worst examples of these behaviours in this series in hopefully a comical and entertaining way. Buckle up, it’s going to be a fun ride!
