As a native Swede and white protestant (atheist actually...) and mainly as a woman I see the so called question about the burkini as a feminist matter. The burkini provides freedom to swim, and also learning how to swim too, to the women who wears them so to ban it would be anti-feminist. And that's the first reason to why I care. Secondly: women wear what we want.

It's always I'm not a racist, BUT ....
starting their comments with "i'm not a racist" is typically said by people too stupid not to post from their personal accounts that their family, employees, bosses, etc can all read and they don't want to tarnish their own image....don't worry all you "not racists"...you're just as easy to spot in real life as you are online! But keep on believing you're not racist just by stating so at the beginning of your racist tirade.

I know this isn’t close to being the same thing, but that will happen a lot with my friends, where they say “no offense but...” and then insult me. It doesn’t hurt any less if you say no offense!!
I think it's good actually. It means they acknowledge that they are making a racist comment, know that that is socially innapropriate and want to protect their reputation, while raising a "fair argument". In some cases(especially the ones that end up on BP) it's still complete BS of course, but it usually shows they are not *completely* ignorant.
Some people are just so shitty. Also, I know this is painfully off topic but all that talk about bacon is making me rly hungry (for food in general) :)

People will always hate someone. My nation is also target of hate. We are usually in USA movies presented as maniacs, criminals, wild and angry people with narrow minds, organ stealers and Godknowswhatelse...generally we have bad reputation in media. There are whole sites and books and articles about hating women. Racism is side to side with other means of hate. For some reason, humans have the need to hate some groups for some stupid reason or just so. That is why I respect animals more.

Russia and Russian people are massively hated in media too. There is no any political correctness about that too. Some nations are more protected from racism than others.
