In The Far East – I Visited Olkhon Island

Olkhon is the biggest Island on Lake Baikal. There is no asphalt roads and electricity appeared ~10 years ago. Island is famous for beatiful landscape and shamanic culture. Main village on island is Khuzir. I was there this year and I took some interesting photos.

These are interesting photos. It looks pretty cold! Why are there not more people out and about?

We were after tourist season so tourist were not so much. The local ones usually dealt with their own affairs and there were not many of them visible. Temperature in September was about 3-5C, I stood up to my knees in Lake Baikal for 20 seconds, very cold.
