My husband always put his mother ahead of me. He has gone as far as giving her a gift he bought for me and coming home and telling me about it. He has never stood up for me or our children. His mother has always praised his brother's wives and children to the extent of buying the gifts for holidays and giving them to them in front of us. My daughter is young and doesn't understand this. I told her the truth that they didn't want her daddy married to me. She told me that she had heard them tell him to divorce me and take the kids away. This is crap.

Wow. That’s seriously messed up. You should sit him down and tell him exactly how you feel. Communication will help fix it or you’ll know you at least tried if it ends. Maybe try something like: It bothers me when you (insert in law issue here) or I feel like your mother/family is dismissive of our family and when you stay quiet, I feel (insert feeling). If he argues, show specific examples of his bad behavior. You’re not the bad guy for being upset but you should never say anything like that to your daughter. I know it’s tough but when you bring a kid into it it just upsets and stresses them. You have to be the mature one here because obviously your husband’s family can’t handle that much. You don’t have to take my advice if you don’t wanna though.
First off my daughter is now 39 years old she is oldest enough to know the truth. Second I have told my husband how I feel more time then I can count. He started to use the excuse that she was Old and didn't know any better. Then I told him she wasn't old when we got married she might have been in her early 40. She has a friend who stands up for me because she has seen what happens. This lady told my husband if it was her he was married to he would be heading to divorce court he doesn't how lucky he is to have a girl like me. I didn't comment on that . When my parents didn't treat him decent I put them in their place.
You definitely need to talk to him asap. Maybe consider couples therapy to have a neutral.person helping you both. A couple is a team and nobody else should come first. If he keeps making you feel this way and not changing I would consider divorce. I hope that you both ger better.
