I was thinking back to my 1996 tour and working experience in Scotland and the way they spreaded course salt onto the tar roads to keep the water on the surface from icing. It made me think about all the possibilities of having a block of ice with course salt and food colouring over it.
Well, the results are pretty amazing and obviously very unique because the images will never be repeated again. The salt creates holes in the ice in which the colouring starts to flow, creating amazing patterns of colour and texture.
I then photographed them with the iPhone and these images are the results. The possibilities are endless and I can’t wait to expand this collection.
