What does ‘beauty’, to be ‘beautiful’, mean to you?
I’m pretty sure that it means something different to every single one of us. Even given context we would all have a different answer, we would all have the right answer. Beauty is everywhere, in every smile, so why is it represented it in our media, in marketing and advertising with such a narrow vision?

As a species, as a people, as a worldwide community, we are all able to find beauty in the smiles of one another, the twinkling of an eye, the crinkling of a nose or the dimpling of a cheek. We are able to see the beauty in the multitude of faces that surround us and we always have been able to do this truly amazing thing. Yet, for too long the images of beauty we have been presented with have been drawn from the smallest of pools; carefully hand-picked, buffed and airbrushed, completely overlooking this amazing skill that we have always been in possession of. Finally, the faces we are being told are beautiful, are starting to reflect the variety and complexity of true beauty that has always surrounded us, thanks to an inspirational few.
