Making art was the only way for me to deal with the grief of losing a baby during lock down.

Having tried for a baby for over a year, we were referred to a fertility clinic when we found out we were expecting. It was the best day of our lives. But sadly, we lost our baby in the week of lock down.

The grief and sadness was too much to bare, so I coped the only way I knew how – through illustrating the journey.

One in four people suffer from baby loss, and one in seven couples struggle to conceive. Unfortunately there isn’t enough awareness or support out there for struggling parents to be – I wanted my drawings to be a comfort to those that are also on this journey.

You can see all my illustrations and join the miscarriage conversation over on my Instagram channel @maybenextcycle.

I’ve got this. I can do this. This journey doesn’t define me. I am more than not pregnant. I am an amazing friend, aunty, sister and daughter. I like who I am and I can look in the mirror and feel proud. I like what I see.
