When I was 5 years old, an uncle gave me a stuffed dinosaur. I named him Cecil. We were close friends and he suffered much love from his human. He got torn; he lost scales; his eyes came off. Now, as an adult, I still have my friend Cecil. Yes, he has scars from his young years, just as many of us do. He has patches of his fur worn off. Recently, I some eyes for him so he could see his world once again. They aren’t like his original eyes, but they serve.
I’ve begun taking Cecil places I like to visit. Most recently, I took him to Edisto Beach in South Carolina, USA. Here are a few photographs from his afternoon there.

Cecil wasn’t sure what to think of the ocean, so he was curious, yet cautious.
I turned my back just for a minute and the ocean hugged him.
After that, he needed a little time to dry off and rest.
Cecil was more cautious after the “wave incident.”
And at the end of the day, Cecil and I watched the moon rise over the Atlantic Ocean, a fitting and beautiful end to the day.
