I Paint On Tote Bags Inspired By Romanian Traditional Blouse-Ia

I’m Iuliana and I spent the last 2 and a half years painting on textile, starting with tote bags, t-shirts and shoes.

For the past couple of years I have been curios about Romanian blouse -IA.

IA is the main part of the Romanian traditional costume.

It is also one of Romania’s most important pieces of folklore and it represent a historical proof of the existence and continuity of traditional Romanian port.

Over time, the Romanian blouse fascinated painters, photographers, designers and people from the country and abroad .

Every region of Romania has a unique style of IA.

You can find this in Bucovina, Moldova, Oltenia, Muntenia, Ardeal and Covasna area.

I have interpreted these ideas on my tote bags.
