I was in Antwerp recently and used Whim to call a taxi, it’s a European app that combines all the city transport you need. This taxi arrived and at first I didn’t realize what was on the side of the car. I just got in and asked the driver to bring me to a bar in the south of the city.
When we were driving he told me he renamed his car and it’s now called ‘wheels of fortune’.
On one of the wheels he attached a spin
ning wheel cap and transformed it into a wheel of fortune.
When your ride is over and the car stops, the wheel keeps on spinning and when it stops you win a prize.
I won 10 euro extra credit, which made the ride extra cheap for me . I wish it landed on the question mark… I asked him what the surprise was, when you hit the question mark, but he said it was a secret and I’ll just have to ride and try again. If all taxi drivers are as creative as this guy, I would definitely use more taxis instead of Ubers. Taxi drivers worldwide should put these ‘wheels of fortune’ on their cars and turn every ride into a mini gameshow.
