A Surprise On My First Day Of Birdwatching

I decided to attend a birdwatching event at one of the main parks in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. I was desappointed to have missed the last tour, wich had been fortunate enough to see a red woodpecker. Although Brazil is famous for its rich wildlife, it’s quite unusual to spot a woodpecker.

During our guided walk, a birdspotter that had wandered off to make a call, suddenly came running back to grab our attention at the sighting of a woodpecker. But even more amazing, there was not just one, but two woodpekers of different species in the same tree. Everyone was ecstatic to see this incredibly rare sighting.
