I Found A Trove Of Iridescent Paints On The Verge Of Expiry… So I’m Making A Series With Them
During lockdown, I cleaned up my absolute disaster of a work station and found what remained of a sweet sweet cache of paints from a liquidation sale in 2013. Way too many tubes of iridescent paint.
So I thought, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH THESE?!! They are drying out, just like me.
I took inspiration from Gustav Klimt for this series. Realism flowing forth from planes of pattern, and so much shiny. How many hours I’ve put into this series so far, I cannot say. Lots. Many. Big Hours. And it’s not finished yet. So much more paint to get through.
Why birds? Because birds make me happy. Just hearing them outside makes the world a better place.

By the way, I'm Alan Arsenault. *I'm not an owner of Rachel herself...as there is no cage strong enough to hold her.
