Korean American Artist Documents Every Hateful Phrase On A Mourning Dress
Susie Callista Suh is a 23-year-old artist from Philadelphia. Her work documents her experiences as a Korean American woman by creating sewn drawings and sculptures. Her artwork ” The Mourning Dress” is a hand-sewn, traditional Korean mourning hanbok. The jacket is covered in hand-stitched phrases from her daily encounters with racism and discrimination.
