Urinating on strangers down water slides, being photobombed by exhibitionist wildlife, wardrobe malfunctions and faceplanting into ornate sand sculptures have all made it into a list of British holidaymakers’ funniest holiday disasters.
Travel agency Florida4Less asked people to submit stories of their most disastrous mishaps in the sun, and received a stack of hilarious and cringe worthy tales.
The funniest holiday fail was judged to be Karen Weedon from Romsey’s mortifying experience of losing bladder control on a water slide – although more sympathy should perhaps be saved for the unfortunate man in front of her:

“I queued for ages to go down a huge water slide. When it was my time, I went down super quick, ended up with my legs around the person in front of me’s head and unfortunately did a bit of a wee on him with all the excitement. So embarrassing!” – Karen Weedon from Romsey.
“Disaster struck after visiting a temple in India. I was just taking a picture of my wife when these naughty monkeys decided to photobomb my shot.” – Neil Hodge from Grimsby.
“In Benidorm I was admiring some sand sculptures on the beach, talking to a sculptor. Next thing I know, I had fainted, landed smack in the middle of his beautiful work of art, which had taken hours to complete, and completely ruined it.” – Tracey Redfern from Chesterfield.
“When you have a barbecue in your holiday apartment and melt the table!” – Helen Newton from Leytonstone.
“On a first holiday with my boyfriend and his family, I knew they thought I was quiet, so I downed a few drinks and got a bit tipsy. I then decided to run towards them, missing my own reflection entirely I ran into a mirrored wall. His family were behind me.” – Carrie Talbot-Ashby from Aylesbury.
“My bikini came undone on Gangplank Falls at Disney World in Florida last year. The operator held everyone up so my boyfriend could fasten it for me. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t tie it. I had to walk down the queue with my top half off. CRINGE.” – Alexandra Adams-Duff from Ormskirk.
“This selfie with an ostrich turned into a disaster when it decided to snatch my phone out of my hand! Then, on a rollercoaster, my rather large uncle unfortunately got stuck in a seat on one of the rides. It took three men to pull him out!” – Kali Filsell from Eastbourne.
“I got a dicky tummy in the Dominican Republic, blocked the toilet and tried to unblock it with a snorkel. I lost the snorkel and broke the toilet!” – Jim Radford from Tonbridge.
“On our first day in Texas I was stung by a huge wasp, on the second I was stung by a scorpion. I then found a brown recluse spider in the garage, then astounded everyone by nearly treading on a rattlesnake in the garden! They said I was the unluckiest person ever.” – Jacqueline Roberts from Kettering.
