Everybody makes mistakes, especially when they’re new to a game. You put too many points into a useless stat, or you end up with a weak, jack-of-all-trades that gets completely decimated by specialists. It’s particularly frustrating in a highly competitive multiplayer game like ARK: Survival Evolved, where your stats can mean the difference between life and death in some situations.

That’s why we have things like the Mindwipe Tonic: a craftable stat respec consumable that gives you a second chance at getting gud.

Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as simply slurping back some common liquid. No, you have to work for that respec, creating the Mindwipe Tonic with a whole bunch of rare meats, herbs, plants and berries. Or you could just use the recipe above, which only requires you to pop to the bottle store.

This drink is somewhat based on the in-game recipe, which includes things like mejoberries (the blueberries), narcotics (the gin) and rare flowers (the blue curacao). However, you’ll note two particularly important ingredients are missing: the prime meat and the rare mushroom. This is intentional, and there are good reasons for not including them.

I have made a bacon-washed bourbon in the past, but it wouldn’t have played well with the other ingredients; salty meat and blueberries? No thanks. Similarly, I’ve also experimented with mushroom-infused gin and… well. Let’s just say it was essentially a war crime. It tasted bad—real bad—and I wouldn’t want to put you guys through the same pain as my friends and I went through while testing it, just so the cocktail above would be 100% game-accurate.

Plus, who wants to muck about with infusions when you just want to respec your character?

Keep it simple, but remember: while you’re muddling those mejoberries, ensure you keep a careful eye on the jungle for raptors.
