Recently I completed my latest miniature for an exhibition at Beinart Gallery in Melbourne. The work based on a photo booth located on Chapel Street in South Yarra, Melbourne is an iconic photo booth which has been used since the 1970s.
I visited Melbourne and took over 300 photographs of the real location before spending 6 weeks recreating the photo booth in every detail in Miniature. Using cardboard, paper, wood and plastic I recreated every detail including working lights including flickering fluro lights and a working flash unit.
I then returned to Melbourne with the miniature taking it back to the real location and used the real photobooth to take a photo of the miniature version!
The miniature is currently on display at Beinart Gallery, 1 Sparta Place, Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia.
