I Created A Life Clock, That Displays The Number Of Seconds Since Your Birth Like A Video Game

I’m French artist Parse/Error, and I created a clock displaying the number of seconds since your birth. Its display is completed by the classic time, but also by a life bar inspired by video games, which is based on the average life expectancy in France.

This clock was thought as a celebration of life, showing that every moment that passes is one more second where you are alive. But this object also has the strange ability to trigger an awareness, symbolizing a countdown to your death.

With a simple change of time scale, the Life Clock invites its user to become aware of the time that passes, but especially to take advantage of the present moment. A reflection on our ability to perceive time, and on our relationship to birth and death.
