I Create Colourful Paintings By Pouring Paint Then Heating It With A Blow Torch!

I am a British abstract artist with a serious colour addiction! I create paintings using a special paint mixture, which I pour onto the canvas then move it about until I achieve the composition I want, then I heat it with a blow torch. The end result is a very colourful painting covered in little ‘cells’ of colour.

It took a lot of experimentation to get the paint mixture just right, and hours of practice to develop my technique, and I’m still working on perfecting it now. It’s an unpredictable technique, and you never know quite how each painting is going to turn out. You can use the same mixture and colours on two identical canvasses yet end up with two completely different paintings. It’s both the most enjoyable, and sometimes the most frustrating part of using this technique!
