Near Bratislava, Slovakia there is one little spot with unique ecosystem. This place is called Sandberg. Despite is’t small area and location near capital, this place has unique enviroment due to it’s sand rich soil it’s home for many floral species, some of them even endemic to this location.

Each spring I crawl with my camera to capture the beauty of this place and colors of it’s flowers.

Most of them are located on sand rich soil and can be often found in large colorful groups.

Usually more than one color variation can be found.

Evening sun makes them really stand out. It’s very easy to notice how delicate these flowers are.

Some of the areas look like seas of flowers.

Yes, there are quite a few of them.

Nearby forest is has a little different environment but in spring it’s full of life.

Sometimes light light shows the shape of the flower better when in monochrome.

Lovely contrasts can be found on each and every step.

In different color variations.

And in different shape.

South-west orientation guarantees great evening lightplay.

However most of the groung is covered by dried weed.

That doesn’t meen some subtle beauty cannot be found there.
