Like too many people, I never thought I could do anything creative or artistic. I didn’t think crafting was ever going to be my thing: I tried knitting but hated all the instructions and counting. I wasn’t great at drawing and I didn’t even have the patience for origami. But a few years ago I heard about needle felting and something about it seemed intriguing. Needle felting is the process of sculpting by turning wool roving into solid felt: there are no rules and nothing to limit your imagination. I took my love of animals and, with huge a leap of faith, decided I could do this.
To my surprise, needle felting proved to be intuitive, highly forgiving, and completely addictive. Now I have a little business selling my needle felted creatures, and my mission is to put as much life and spirit into my work as possible.
