Three simple words that we often forget to tell ourselves… “I Am Enough”. These words can brighten days and even save lives. However, why? It is not enough to only mutter these three vague words. We need to reinforce and remind ourselves EXACTLY why we ARE enough.

Before I graduated Ramapo College of New Jersey, I wanted to make to leave a positive footprint as a mental health advocate. Inspired by the “I Am Enough” temporary tattoos the Wellness Coalition at Ramapo College of New Jersey gave out at their events, I collaborated with them as we created the “I Am Enough” campaign. Over the course of months, we embarked on the journey to make a full print and video campaign. I photographed and filmed over 50 volunteers including not only students but faulty and staff as well. Everyone and anyone were welcome to come and actively tell the world why they are enough.

When spring came, we plastered the volunteers’ posters all over the college campus. Everyone who passed through the halls would see new and familiar faces bolding wearing the “I Am Enough” tattoos with their reasoning written above them. Everyone was welcomed to get their Polaroid taken and write their own reason after getting their own “I Am Enough” tattoos and bracelets as daily reminders!

The response was truly overwhelming. Someone even got the temporary tattoo as A REAL TATTOO! People were wearing their bracelets for weeks after the event and I couldn’t count the amount of people who came up to tell me how better they felt after the event.

You are enough. Tell yourself why. Share your reasons in the comment section :)
